busta.
give me one reason this photo isn’t awesome. this photo came before a time where looking disaffected was cool, before crowds of people showed up on set to 30” tethered monitors to collectively hack a shoot away, before twitter and probably facebook, before ideas were computer generated, before “media” was needed to be digestible, dumbed down, standardized, and gentrified across all print/tablet/web/social media /etc/etc/etc/etc/etc platforms.
the catering on this shoot was probably a shitload of salmon and gummi worms and there wasn’t a pasta salad option, there were probably 5 very driven, creative people on set that all were able to work in their own space, they had vision but also an understanding of the priceless value of letting things “happen”. and so this busta rhymes shoot happened. spontaneity happened. and nobody saw the results until 24 hours later, and that suspense all pushed them to be awesome during the shoot, cause there was no net.
ok now im overtalking, hopefully you get the point, which is that I wish we’d return to the past.
